GFX21 - Fiona Mackinnon

I work on the spot in all weathers, drawing on thick tracing paper.
The completed drawing is turned around, allowing for the reversal of the image to be drawn , freehand, onto a copper plate, which has a soft ground on it.
There is no tracing or photography involved as this kills the fluidity of line of any drawing.
When the soft ground is etched, I usually sharpen up parts of the composition with a hard ground.
I work slowly and this process can take a year.
