GFX21 - Christine Baker

Jan Header Chris.

Thank you GoFigure for introducing me to figure drawing and putting on this wonderful exhibition.

I’m a relatively new member of Go Figure and have only recently made art my priority. I’m enjoying experimenting with different media and subjects. One minute I’m in love with watercolour the next acrylic! Flowers then figures or is it black ink!!

What I do know however, is that art has helped me enormously through this strangest of years. There have been great ups and downs. Some still laying heavy with me but art has been my constant. And to that I’m very grateful.

As well as GoFigure l had been attending another local weekly art group. Sadly and shockingly the facilitator died of Covid-19 in the first wave. When restrictions were relaxed I was in the process of restarting the group myself but then the second Lockdown hit in October. Knowing how much art is my tonic I decided to move the group online. It is called ‘A Change Of Art’ and has been a much needed distraction from the pandemic for me and the 25 or so members. If you would like more information please email me.
